It happened around 2:50 p.m. Saturday, March 12 in Holbrook.
A 63-year-old Brookhaven man was driving a 2007 Ford pickup truck westbound on Express Drive North when the vehicle left the road, struck a tree and overturned, Suffolk County Police said.
Officers from the Emergency Service Section and members of the Ronkonkoma Fire Department extricated the man from the vehicle.
The man was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is in critical condition.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
